Happy Thanksgiving

It turned into a pretty great day. My friend-who's husband is also deployed, that lives in the village invited the boys and I over for some turkey grub. The food, conversation and wine were wonderful! We rode our bikes just so I could drink till my hearts content. But we ended up pushing our bikes home, one of the chains came off. And because it was dark and I did not want to risk walking in dog poop to get the the shed, our bikes are parked in the diningroom and living room right now. Today, I also called my parents and my brothers. Talking with my brothers was the interesting part of the day. I called Ben first, who usually does not like to talk long so I was counting on a quick phone call. While we are talking, Alex calls Ben's cell phone. So Ben puts Alex and I on speaker phone so we can have a three way call. LOL. Alex and I thought Ben was nuts. So Alex says bye. Ben calls Greg, so we can do the same thing, have a three way call! It was great to talk with each of my brothers today. I think Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday. The reason would be the countless ones spent away from family. I do have 2 favorites. My #1 favorite would be one year I was living in Colorado and got a ride to Omaha. Mom, Dad and my brothers were already there. I got in late and the only place left to sleep at my Grandma's house was the floor in the livingroom, with my brothers. My #2 would be one year that we lived in Wyoming and Mom & Dad were doing their US tour. LOL. Their adventure started in Ohio, down to Texas to Las Vegas where they met up with Greg & Colleen that drove in from San Diego. After Mom & Dads pit stop they drove up through Colorado to Wyoming to have Turkey fest with us. Their adventure then took them to Omaha and back home.

Pumpkins

our pumpkins this year. Brice actually did some of the craving, he did a great job. and he took pride in his work and signed his name. lol, I was very proud when I learned to write my name, I wrote it on everything! Also, I decided I wanted to decorate our front door this year. this did have a purpose other than decorative. just in case our landlord came over I might not have to explain why I have brown paper covering the lower glass on the door. well gee that is so no one will cut themselves on the broken glass till the new one is put in! yes, this is the 3rd window we have replaced. 1- that I broke trying to break into the house when we first got here cuz I locked us out and had not put a spare key outside yet, Danny was in Africa and I did not have the landlords number. 2- when Brice tested the theory that a bike helmet really does protect your head and head butted the top glass of the door. 3- coming home from a bike ride and Trenten was on his new bike and was not used to brakes only on the handle bars.

Brice is 6

Holy cow! I remember clearly going to the hospital 6 years ago ready to have this boy. I will post some pics tomorrow. We decorated his cake and had cake for breakfast. Opened presents, went bowling. The boys went trick er treating tonight, we went on base. When we got home, that dog had tried to get herself a piece of cake. So it turned into being a good thing we had cake for breakfast. We also took speedracer cupcakes to school to share with the class. I ate lunch with Brice at school=gross, but the boys like me to come eat with them.

fall festival

today was the annual fall festival at Sembach. Trent was Luke Skywalker and Brice is Batman, yes Batman with a light saber. I like to take the boys because they have games for the kids and trunk er treat. this year they had a cake walk, guess how many cakes we brought home? only 2, but could they pick the smallest cakes...NO! I am hoping that if I leave them on the counter the dog will get them - I know, so wrong, bad mommy.

fall pictures

this is what I get when I try to take fall pictures, silliness! the adventures of boys. I took this picture on base at the park. it was a Sunday, Danny was gone and we needed to get out of the house. it may be hard to see in the picture but the boys found a toy rubber lizard, so that is the green thing in his hand. he insisted it needed to be in the picture.
