We just got back from a four day family vacation. On a whim we decided to get out of town and went to Berchtesgaden, Germany. This pic was taken on our tour of the salt mine SalzZeitReise (www.salzzeitreise.de). I would have to say the best part of the tour was getting to go down two of these slides. We also went to Konigssee, saw Eagles Nest from the distance, spent the afternoon in Salzburg, Austria and toured Mozart’s house and walked through Nonnberg Abby – one of the scenes from the movie the Sound of Music. what is an awesome brother?
the one that emails you every year to remind you (me!) when my anniversary is! yes I always forget. In fact a few years ago I did not even remember till a week later! I also forget Danny's bday. I remember everyday up to and then the morning of 'happy birthday' is never the first thing out of my mouth. in fact last year on Danny's bday he was TDY so he called me so I could wish him a happy bday and I still forgot, I was wondering why he was calling so early. so this is the card I made for him this year. seeing he bought the paper, stamps and ink anyway, I should do something with it all. lol.Tuesday, December 16, 2008

cookie swap
sharing a little German culture with you
living in Germany can be very educational. every Christmans the boys look forward to their Advent calender. I usually just buy a cheap one at a German store, well this year they had one just for Danny! After you remove your little chocolate from behind the flap, you get to see another pic of a sexy girl.
the following two pics I laughed so hard when I saw these billboard. Yes they were in parking lots of a German store. It is one of those times you don't really need to be able to read German to get what they want you to do!

cuttin' paper today
what does an out of work nurse do all day...this one cuts and glues paper. pic 1- is a little bag/box for a cookie swap that I am in, no I am not cooking, my item does not need to be cooked. pic 2 - card on left is my version of the card on right. I did not have the stamp set so I used what I had. pic 3 - is altered cans. they started off with diced tomatoes, I used a can opener to take the bottom off so I would not ruin the pop top. filled it with my goodies and glued the bottom back on.

a Santa poem
Twas the night before Christmas, I'm glued to the tree.
I'm wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?
Or a Cricut, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that's when I heard him,
"Hi Santa, " I said
"You know....good little girls
Should be in their beds."
"I know I should Santa,
And now I've got caught.
But I was just so excited
To see what you brought."
"Well, let's take a look
In this room where you work.
"He shook his head quickly,
And left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim
As he put it in gear.
"You've got enough crap,
I'll see you next year!"

Thankfully I have a nice Santa that visits here, he would never say that to me....lol

a Brice story
it has been awhile for a Brice story. and he did not disappoint this morning! okay so many of you know that when Brice was going to German kindergarten he jumped out the window with a friend and ran away from school. That day he ran home and rang the door bell. Some how he made his way back to school, to this day I am not sure how. And because I do not speak German and his teachers that where there that day did not speak English all I got from the conversation is that Brice jumped out the window. Well come to find out after he was asking me where I went to day because my car was not in the driveway that there was more to the story. This was the day Danny promised Brice he would not get a spanking if he told the truth. Danny stuck to his promise, but boy does he yell REALLY loud. We thought Brice understood he could not run away from school and that this would not happen again. LOL. Months later his class is taking glass bottles to the recycle bins down the street from our house. As Brice is walking past our street he decides he is taking a detour by our house. I answer the door bell to Brice standing there saying HI. I take him back to school.
Today, at the bus stop this morning Brice throws a fit, throws his bus pass on the ground. Trent picks it up, for him. So the bus pulls up, Brice refuses to get on the bus! The bus pulls away with Trent looking out the window at his brother standing next to me on the sidewalk! In the end, I take Brice to school.
