Chuck E Cheese

What do you do when you have two boys to entertain and you are craving some pizza...you find coupons and go to the closest Chuck E Cheese!!!! So for $30 you can get: 1 large pizza with ham and pineapple, drinks and 80 tokens. By the way 40 tokens for each boy only lasts 2 hours. But I love this picture. It was suppose to be a picture of Trenten and mommy but Bricey managed to squeeze in there too. I think this really captures the fun we have together.

Electricity is back!!

OH MY!! Thursday night a little storm was brewing and came through Vernon. Not too much damage a lot of tree limbs on the ground. But also the electricity was out -- for almost 24 hrs. Thank goodness it only got to in the high 90's for temp during the day on Friday and the pool was okay. The boys just did not get why the TV did not work, but it did kind of work out for them seeing that they had lost TV privileges Friday anyway. About 6pm we all were a little hot and tired so we decided it would be fun to cruse town, in AC, to see the damage. It was very exciting to see the lights on in our house when we pulled up. so this pic is the result of what 'straight line winds' can do.

Cantrell gang picture

For Memorial Day weekend the Cantrell-Ghent gang got together. This is what we had

2 parents (Dan & Angie)

6 kids (this is Russ & Misty, Danny & Marla, Christina & Brian)

5 grandkids (Ethan, Evan, Trenten, Brice & Julie)

7 dogs

so we had to update our family picture which was last taken in December 2004.

I think it was a great weekend. Most of the time was spent at the Black Powder Range. The family cleaned up on awards quite well with 11 registered shooters.

the Plex

Trenten had a blast driving about the go-carts with his dad

more of the Plex

For a good time we all headed to 'The Plex' for some outdoor fun. My partener for the rides was Bricey. Let me tell you what a good time to Brice is... when riding a water bumper boat, fun is spinning in circles and then driving under all water fountains-- repeatedly, screaming we need a bath, we need a bath.

Space A adventure

We left Ramstein 10 May as CAT III on leave status. We had decided that we would take the first flight we could get, this was to Dover DE on C17. The flight was great and only cost $14 for 4 box lunches! We got to stretch out on the floor, take naps and the boys got to sit in the cockpit and press the missile launch button, repeatedly. Landing in Dover DE on a Saturday evening is not the best of situations. All of the car rental places are closed till Monday! Danny just wanted to keep us moving so we used our Germany cell phone to call a transportation service to get us to the closest airport, Philadelphia. This is where we also had a car rental, for $350 one way, reservation for a 7pm pickup time. Cool, still this is all cheaper than one plane ticket from Germany to the US! We get picked up from base and for 4 of us to get to the airport $225, we are off. Well we got a nice little tour of all the landmarks and busted our car rental pick up time, by 3 minutes, ugh!!!!! So we took what they had for a nice little $650 one way. In the car, all of us are tired our bodies think that it is 2am, second wind kicks in. We are off, out of the city, heading west to the PA turnpike. In Hagerstown, at 11pm Danny is done. We stop at a hotel and get some sleep. We wake up, rested, all very quiet looking at each other, it is 3:30am! Well we are awake so we get up, take showers and we are off!! As we pass the Altoona exit, I wave and say Hi to my friend Rhonda.

In Ohio, I-70 west, WOOHOO! Decisions, decisions. Do we stop at Grammie and Grumps house? I know that Greg & the boys and Alex are in town. At 10:30am we come to I-70 and Route 4, after some discussing Danny and I decided to drive by. Ugh, as I write this, I wish we would have stopped. I was thinking that it would be better to just get to Texas and get settled for my clinical to start. Really would a few hours have made any difference in our trip… we will never know. In Indiana and Illinois we hit some rain and really windy weather. Enter Missouri; sun is shining, clear skies. Finally Oklahoma, we know we are close, the adrenaline kicks in, happy dance-- 5am, we arrive Vernon TX.

Airborne

today we (boys and I) went to the drop zone to watch Danny jump. I have to say it was pretty cool. even better we knew which little spot in the sky was him. I have it on video, so as soon as I figure that madness out of putting it to dvd, send your request for your signed copy. also some German soldiers were jumping with them today and they earned their American jump wings.
